Training, study and emu's...

Anna Scarlett's picture
After another very intense week of training and study! We were treated by our host Tim Wyld to a trip to the Cleland Wild Life Park! I was blown away by this park as we were able to walk into paddocks where kangaroos, emu's and wallabies were hanging out and feed and pat them! It is crazy that with the number of times i have been to Australia, I had never patted either a kangaroo or Koala! Very cool experience!

As for the volleyball side of things, trainings have been very intense and at times frustrating. Not having a coach,  makes things very difficult and training in an environment where the Australian athletes have a coach and assistant coach as well as amazing facilities it can make our road seem so much harder. BUT it is all character building and our time will come when we will have those same resources!

Mascot

Hmm New Zealand is lacking in native predators or other suitable animals . Sure you could go with something like Hector's Dolphin but it would be to obscure . At the risk of sounding unpatriotic I would suggest the Orca as a mascot . The Orca isnt native to any one part of the world and by all accounts is an aggressive and intelligent animal in the wild . Also the Orca is very recognizable and can found in the waters around New Zealand . Just think of how cool publicly shots would be if Team LG adopted the Orca has its mascot .

A Mascot

Why not adopted an Animal other then a Kiwi as the Team LG Mascot ? Choose an animal that is aggressive and reflects the spirit with which you and Blundell play .

Interesting thought there. We

Interesting thought there. We would of course want to keep it an NZ animal, any suggestions?
